The National Hunt eyes focus on Bellewstown this Saturday evening and there’s a cracking €40,000 contest headlining proceedings in County Meath.

Still with low mileage on the clock, we’re siding with Charles Byrnes’s Run For Oscar to land the valuable prize under Kevin Brouder.

Kevin Brouder rode Thosedaysaregone to victory in the Ladbrokes Hurdle at Leopardstown last year but sides with stable-mate Run For Oscar at Bellewstown

Perhaps overextended by the trip for his Down Royal season pipe-opener, that was his first appearance since November and should strip fitter for the outing.

He saw off a subsequent Grade 2 winner at Fairyhouse on his penultimate start, and the form from his Galway second in October is working out strongly ahead of laying down his Bellewstown credentials this weekend.

Interestingly, Kevin Brouder sides with him ahead of the fellow County Limerick representative and top-weighted Thosedaysaregone, which looks a clue in itself.
