CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL SELECTION: BOB OLINGER | 1:30pm Turners Novices’ Chase (Grade 1)

A disappointing showing for a Cheltenham Festival Grade 1 but the clash of the titans that we all hoped for.

He may be a short price against his rival but even money about BOB OLINGER could prove to be a very kind price.

Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore teamed up to win at the Cheltenham Festival with Bob Olinger 12 months ago

After his superb Ballymore win twelve months ago, he seemed destined to be an odds-on shot for this encounter until Galopin Des Champs seemingly preferred route as opposed to the Brown Advisory on Wednesday.

But Willie Mullins is willing to take him on after facile Leopardstown wins, although he wasn't as quite impressive there on the second occasion in a race that fell apart a tad.

He's no doubt a brilliant jumper, something that has been questioned of the selection, but the latter has a devastating turn of foot that could see him run away from Paul Townend's mount up the hill.

The smaller field will tee up these two to be the front pair the entire way but Rachael Blackmore is backed to come out on top with her classier National Hunt charge.
