2019 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle victor Eglantine Du Seuil heads to Fontwell this evening bidding to land her first success on the course since her Festival win two years ago.
A winner at Fontainebleau on debut, the French recruit made a winning start under rules at Sligo before going onto win at Prestbury Park two starts later under Noel Fehily – the jockey’s final Festival victory in the saddle.
Formerly with Willie Mullins, the Saddler Maker daughter moved to Paul Nicholls at the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign where he struggled to land a major blow over timber, despite close efforts at Cheltenham’s International and April Meetings, respectively.
And her Ditcheat handler now bids for a tilt over fences, with Bryony Frost set to partner the seven-year-old mare in West Sussex on Thursday evening.
She currently heads the betting in the three-runner affair, opposing the Jamie Snowden trained and Fontwell specialist, Chapmanshype.
Gary Moore saddles the outsider of the trio, Neff.
