With the National Hunt season drawing to a close, the summer Jumps fixtures get underway as two cards are held at Chepstow and Worcester this evening.
Having a punt? Our team have selected their four best bets for this evening to make up the Daily Lucky 15.
CHEPSTOW
Famoso | 5.05pm Burnham Plastering "National Hunt" Maiden Hurdle
An improving sort from Paul Nicholls’ yard, Famoso could land his first success under rules in the opening contest at Chepstow.
The five-year-old struggled over 2m5f at Wincanton in early March, but he showed promise when being dropped down to the minimum distance on his last outing four weeks ago.
The gelding is a work in progress but his last start offered a glimpse of his potential and he could strike here in modest company.
Inn The Bull | 6.35pm burnhamtraining.co.uk Handicap Hurdle
After three unplaced starts on the flat for his new yard, Inn The Bull marked his return over obstacles with a comfortable win at Huntingdon less than two weeks ago.
Alastair Ralph’s runner was awarded a 7lb penalty for that win but that has been cleared after enlisting a 7lb claimer in the form of Cillin Leonard.
The son of Lope De Vega looks to be ahead of the handicapper currently and could well land back-to-back successes over hurdles here.
WORCESTER
Blue Heaven | 5.45pm David Pipe Racing Club Mares' Open National Hunt Flat Race
For the first time since October 2019, racing returns to Worcester with a cracking eight-race card on show.
It also sees one of the Queen’s horses descend on the Worcestershire track, in the form of Nicky Henderson’s Blue Heaven.
A half-sister to bumper and hurdle winner Sunshade, there is indication here that the four-year-old possesses some promise.
Her trainer holds a 28% strike rate with bumper runners at the course and Blue Heaven should claim another success for him here.
Dragon Bones | 7.15pm Paul Nicholls Supports Worcester Racecourse Novices' Hurdle
A 50/1 bumper winner on debut at Worcester, Dragon Bones could claim another success here over hurdles for Ian Williams.
The mare sprung another surprise in Listed company last month, winning a Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Doncaster on her first start over obstacles.
She bounced back to form at Hexham at the beginning of the week and even with the double penalty, Dragon Bones could land another success here.
