This evening’s Lucky 15 for the meetings at Newton Abbot and Newbury is now LIVE!
Here’s our best four bets of the day…
POLAR CLOUD: 5:00pm BetVictor Apprentice Handicap – Heather Main’s contender remains off an unchanged mark following a creditable fourth at Newcastle last time out. The result of his only previous sole turf mark probably doesn’t do that run justice and the extended trip may play into his favour here. He’s in good hands and showed in April he knows where the winning post is.
TYPICAL MAN: 7:00pm BetVictor Handicap – William Buick is jocked up on Ian Williams’s charge this evening, with plenty of the handler’s recent runners performing well in defeat. But perhaps the son of Territories can go one better for the Midlands stable tonight, having won in soft ground previously. He was perhaps overextended by the mile trip last time so the drop back to seven furlongs can play into his favour.
KILMINGTON ROSE: 6:45pm newtonabbotracing.com Novices’ Hurdle – Paul Nicholls’s mare is in fine form, arriving her chasing a hat-trick following her bloodless display at this track earlier this month. She’s showed a consistent attitude to her career so far, and is still lightly raced at eight outings given the fact she is now six. There’s more to come up in trip and it would be a surprise if she gets turned over here under Harry Cobden.
DRUMLEE WATAR: 8:15pm St Austell Brewery Handicap Hurdle – After bumping into a couple on his last two outings, it can’t be long until Warren Greatrex’s gelding sheds his maiden tag under rules and remains off an unchanged mark of 110 for the third time. He seems to have excelled up in trip and has bagged two silver medals in the bag, proving his future at this trip was always likely having won his point-to-point. He is now Gavin Sheehan’s only ride of the night and last time out runner Design Icon is now a non-runner, helping his chances.
