Last year’s Triumph Hurdle winner Burning Victory is sent over to France for the second time this summer by Willie Mullins, as the five-year-old features at Deauville in hope of landing another success on the flat for her connections.
The Nathaniel mare has been competing over both codes throughout the summer months, after starting the campaign in Grade 1 company at Punchestown back in May.
Mullins’ recruit finished down the pecking order on that occasion, crossing the line 39 lengths adrift of stablemate Stormy Ireland in the Mares Champion Hurdle.
She was given a different assignment a month later, as she made her first trip over to France in June to tackle a 2m1f Handicap at Lyon Parilly.
The five-year-old made light work of her rivals, cruising to a five and a half-length success for her connections.
The mare returned to Ireland to tackle hurdles six weeks later, tackling the Galway Hurdle where she finished a respectable seventh.
Mullins’s recruit has been given her orders across the English Channel once again, as she faces 14 rivals in a 1m7f Handicap at Deauville this evening.
She currently holds favouritism for the contest, at the price of 4/1.
