The weekend is upon us, with another cracking week of racing scheduled on ITV Racing.
The coverage gets underway with a 3m2f Veterans’ Handicap Chase at Newbury at 1:15 and concludes with a Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at Kelso at 3:43.
Our team have taken a look through the schedule, in hope of pinning down some value across the contests.
Here are three value picks to consider for Saturday’s ITV Racing coverage at Doncaster, Kempton and Newbury.
AMOOLA GOLD – 1:50 NEWBURY (14/1 – Various)
A former Grade 1 runner, Amoola Gold returns to action in the Greatwood Gold Cup at Newbury.
The nine-year-old posted a fair effort over the 2m4f distance last time out, finishing third at Warwick three weeks ago.
Dan Skelton’s gelding is 2lbs above his last winning mark, but with a 5lb claimer in and the softer ground playing to his advantage, he could well run a big race at a nice price of 14/1.
SO SAID I – 2:20 DONCASTER (15/2 – William Hill)
Hailing from Colin Tizzard’s yard, So Said I could be one to note in the Listed Virgin Bet Mares’ Novices Hurdle at Doncaster.
The six-year-old has been impressive in her first season over obstacles, winning three of her first five starts and placing on the other two.
She has struck trip over today’s trip and she looks capable of stepping up into Listed company, with her price tag of 15/2 offering up some value here.
BUVEUR D’AIR – 3:15 KELSO (15/2 – Various)
Who would have thought that you would see Buveur D’Air at such a workmanlike price ever again?
The eight-time Grade 1 winner returns to action following 11 months away from the track, as he carries top weight in the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso.
If Nicky Henderson’s veteran is anywhere near back to his best, then his price tag of 15/2 in this contest screams value.
