SANDOWN ITV RACING | 3 Value Picks to consider for Saturday’s racing

The team have selected three fancies for the weekend’s action at Sandown scheduled on ITV Racing

Imperial Cup Day - Sandown Park General ITV Racing

The weekend before Cheltenham is upon us, with a decent card at Sandown scheduled in before the biggest week in jumps racing.

Four races at the Surrey course are to be shown on ITV Racing, with the Imperial Cup being the feature contest on the card.

Our team have taken a look through the schedule, in hope of pinning down some value.

Here are three value picks to consider for Saturday’s ITV Racing coverage at Sandown.

KINGOFTHEWEST – 1:50 SANDOWN (12/1 – Various)

Hailing from David Pipe’s yard, Kingofthewest is given his chance in Graded company following a respectable first campaign over obstacles.

The six-year-old has won two of his three starts over hurdles and has placed on the other occasion in novice company.

The gelding does have the advantage of a 3lb claimer in the saddle and he could well have more in the locker, with his price tag of 12/1 holding some each-way value.

SAMARRIVE – 2:25 SANDOWN (14/1 – Various)

After disappointing at Ascot last time out, Samarrive returns to action in the Imperial Cup on Saturday.

The gelding is coming back after a three-month break, after struggling in the Betfair Trophy due to a harsh 11lb hike in the ratings.

He has been given a slight reduction for this contest and he did strike over C&D as a novice, so he could well hold each-way value at 14/1 here.

FRENCHY DU LARGE – 3:35 SANDOWN (6/1 – Various)

A gelding that has consistent over fences this season, Frenchy Du Large could well be overpriced for the Listed Novices’ Handicap Chase.

The seven-year-old has seen a rise of 12lbs since the start of the season, following two back-to-back successes at Uttoxeter and Chepstow.

Venetia Williams’ recruit finished a distant second at Lingfield last month but he is dropped back in trip and is back in preferred conditions, so Frenchy Du Large could run a big race here.
