Newton Abbot: Pilbara | 7:45pm Get Daily Tips On attheraces.com Handicap Chase | Dom’s Pick
Tuesday’s sole National Hunt card takes focus at Newton Abbot and we’ve highlighted our best bet of the day.
After leaving Emmet Mullins, Pilbara has joined a yard that has been very shrewd so far this campaign, picking up four winners from a possible 25.
The Tiger Groom gelding ran a cracker on his last start for his previous yard at Killarney, and that form was franked when the winner went in again a month later, and two other rivals in his wake achieving glory since.
His British chasing mark is 7lbs higher than across the Irish Sea but given the clear quality of the last contest he participated in, he may not be handicapped out of things on his first run for Sue Smith.
A few of these rivals have some question marks after their recent outings and he could still present a bit of value for punters as a second-favourite.
