THE OUTSIDER | A big-priced runner to consider for Day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival

The team pick out a runner with an eye-catching price for the third day of the Cheltenham Festival

Trainer Willie Mullins after Turban won the Underwriting Exchange Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Steeplechase at Fairyhouse Racecourse, Ratoath, Ireland.

It’s Cheltenham Eve, with only one sleep to go until the biggest week in Jumps racing gets underway.

The team has been scouring the cards in preparation for the four-day meeting, hunting through the entries in hope of picking out a big-priced winner.

The next day up in the feature is St Patrick’s Thursday, with the day’s selection coming in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle.

Here is the Outsider for the third day of the Cheltenham Festival.

STATUAIRE – Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (16/1 – bet365 + William Hill)

Hailing from Willie Mullins’ yard, Statuaire could well be one to note in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle on the Thursday at Cheltenham.

The mare has produced a respectable campaign so far this term, winning three of her four starts since joining the Closutton trainer last summer.

One of those successes came in Grade 1 company, as she got the better of the boys in the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse back in November.

Willie Mullins' Statuaire could be one to watch out in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival

She was shown up on her next start in the Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle, but she is dropped back down in class and is stepped back up in trip here.

The seven-year-old is currently entered in the County Hurdle as well, but she could well run here and is one to note at a big price in this contest at 16/1.
