About the Race

The Matchbook Betting Exchange Handicap Steeple Chase is a Class 2 handicap steeplechase run on the old course at Cheltenham with a total distance of 3 miles and 1 furlong.

Open to horses aged four years and above, The Matchbook Betting Exchange Handicap Steeple Chase presents 20 fences for the competitors to clear and offers a prize pool of £48,000 as the featured race of the day.

The first four horses to successfully pass the Cheltenham final post will receive a proportionate share of the purse, with £30,029 assigned to the winner. The second-place finisher takes home £8,870, third-place receives £4,435 and fourth-place secures the remaining £2,218.
