William Cody – 2:20 Wetherby (16/1 – bet365)

Hailing from Pam Sly’s yard, William Cody could be one to note in a two-mile novices’ hurdle at Wetherby.

The gelding showed gradual improvement in bumpers over the summer and he placed at Market Rasen back in June, finishing second behind a useful sort.

The four-year-old made his first start over hurdles last month and was far from disgraced when finishing eight of 14 runners at Uttoxeter.

He clearly has some potential and he could well have more to offer here after gaining some experience over obstacles last time out.

At the price of 16/1, William Cody could push for the places here.
