Chidswell – 3.35 Ayr (40/1 – Various)
A veteran from Nicky Richards’ yard, Chidswell could use his previous experience of the Ayr course to his advantage on Sunday Afternoon.
The 12-year-old was looking promising in the 2019 renewal of this contest but he, unfortunately, burst blood vessels and had to be pulled up.
The gelding is 6lbs lower this time around and he should appreciate the better conditions on this occasion.
The veteran can produce a stronger effort on good ground, with his last two successes coming in those specific conditions.
He does have question marks on his staying ability over this distance, but Richards’ recruit could prove his talent over fences here.
At 40/1, Chidswell could well be huge each-way value in the Scottish Grand National.
