After yesterday’s winning NAP at Market Rasen, focus now turns to the sole jumps action on Tuesday afternoon at Sedgefield.

No doubt the pre-card hype will be the ongoing jockeys championship between Harry Skelton and Brian Hughes, and both have mounts in this race, but a chance is taken on Sue Smith’s previous course-and-distance successor.

He has only had one run in 14 months, but that was a creditable second at Carlisle in October and he’s only been raised 1lbs for his troubles that day.

His handler continues to enjoy her contenders running to a good level of form in recent history and her representatives form over two miles has been pretty solid.

Face fitness may be a slight concern, but a couple of these perhaps have a few more question marks over their cases.

Costly Diamond has been hiked 17lbs off the back of his last two wins and didn’t succeed with bags in hand at Southwell last month, while Relkadam’s better form looks to have arrived on softer ground.
