Alan King’s gelding now enters handicap company for the first time and he was rated 129 when blitzing a three-runner field at Market Rasen last time out.

Not only that, he won by a whopping 34-lengths at this course back in June and some very strong form has been provided on both the flat and over jumps in contests he’s been involved in of late.

He is still only five and remains with a bright future in this sphere based on the exploits he has enjoyed thus far.

Plenty here in with a shout based on recent outings but Peter Bowen’s charge makes the long jaunt from Pembrokeshire and looks to have most appeal following the manner of his Sedgefield success last time out.

He finished a fine third here back in July (second has won since) and he already looks a far more natural chaser than he ever did over hurdles.

Montanna is Peter Bowen’s only runner at Uttoxeter on Wednesday afternoon

Friends Don’t Ask has a bit more in hand on him than when they previously clashed two months ago but the selection could yet be ahead of his mark of 118.
